All The Presidents’ Gardens, 8/20

Join us for a fascinating presentation on “All the Presidents’ Gardens” with award-winning author and horticulturalist Marta McDowell.

Hear the untold history of the White House grounds, including details of the plants and the gardeners. Discover how the story of the garden is also the story of America. Marta McDowell teaches landscape history and horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden and consults for private clients and public gardens. Marta’s new book about garden themes in murder mysteries entitled Gardening Can Be Murder was recently published in the fall of 2023. She was the 2019 recipient of the Garden Club of America’s Sarah Chapman Francis Medal for outstanding literary achievement.
