Mercer County Park: Spend a day in nature, enjoying a brisk trail hike or some bird-watching at Mercer County Park in nearby West Windsor Township. The park offers a wide variety of nature programs and activities for those of all ages throughout the year.
Historical Battlefields: Explore history in Mercer County by visiting locations like Princeton Battlefield, where American and British troops fought The Battle of Princeton in 1777 or Washington Crossing State Park, where George Washington crossed the Delaware during the American Revolution.
Drumthwacket: Take a tour of the historic home of the New Jersey governor, Drumthwacket. Originally built in Princeton in 1835 as the home of then governor Charles Smith Olden, Drumthwacket is open for free public tours on Wednesdays at one p.m.
Hightstown-East Windsor Historical Society: The historical society hosts a variety of events and activities residents at Meadow Lakes enjoy attending. The historic house and garden tours are particular favorites.
Grounds for Sculpture: Located in Trenton, Grounds for Sculpture is situated on the former New Jersey Fairgrounds and includes three of the original major buildings, all restored to their former glory. Visitors enjoy a constantly evolving collection of amazing outdoor sculptures on 42 beautiful, landscaped acres. Tours and events are available year-round.
Theaters: If it’s live performances you love, you have plenty of options to partake in a show around East Windsor. There’s the State Theater in New Brunswick, the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton, and of course, the McCarter Theatre in Princeton.
Wineries: Located right in Mercer County in Robbinsville Township, Working Dog Winery is a great spot to socialize, let off some steam and enjoy wine tasting with your friends. Or, head to Cream Ridge Winery in Upper Freehold Township to discover your new favorite vintage.
Excursions to NYC and the Jersey Shore: Both Manhattan and the Jersey Shore are located just an hour away from Meadow Lakes. You can easily hop on public transportation for a day of shopping, dining, theater and more, or wait for a scheduled excursion and let our driver take you!
Peddie Golf Club: Enjoy an afternoon on the green at this 9-hole course, conveniently located right next door to Meadow Lakes! Even better? Residents enjoy complimentary membership!
