Art has the power to bring people together, tell stories, and offer new perspectives. This fall, Meadow Lakes will once again welcome the New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show, a longstanding statewide exhibition celebrating the creativity and artistic achievements of older adults.
Now in its 60th year, the New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show brings together outstanding works by artists ages 60+ from across the state. The exhibition represents the culmination of county-level senior art shows held throughout New Jersey, with first-place winners advancing to the statewide competition.
The 2026 exhibition features approximately 300 works by professional and nonprofessional artists, showcasing a wide range of artistic styles and mediums. From painting and photography to sculpture, digital art and mixed media, the collection reflects the unique perspectives, experiences and creative talents of the Garden State’s older artists.
A Statewide Celebration of Artistic Expression
The New Jersey Senior Citizen Art Show provides an opportunity to recognize the accomplishments of older artists and share their work with a broader audience. Each piece represents an artist’s dedication to their craft and the important role creativity can play at every stage of life.
The exhibition is a collaborative project of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and Mercer County’s Division of Culture & Heritage. Through participating county programs, artists have the opportunity to exhibit their work locally and compete for recognition at the state level.
Meadow Lakes has served as the home of this annual exhibition since 2009, welcoming artists, art enthusiasts, and community members to experience the collection.
